Introducing Soul Connections with Denise Peters

Photo of Denise PetersJoin me, Denise Peters, Tuesday April 5th from 8pm to 9pm on Charlotte Community Radio as I debut my talk show Soul Connections, a place where you will learn to live on purpose through Soul Guidance.

At the age of 11, I crossed over in a drowning accident. What I did not realize then was that I was sent back to this physical earth with a heightened gift, because according to spirit “there was much to accomplish.” Now, I am a Spiritual Intuitive or “psychic” who is both Clairaudient and Clairvoyant, and has had the distinct pleasure of working with the police across state lines in missing persons cases. Some call me a Psychic Detective.

My show, Soul Connections, is designed to teach you how to further develop your own spiritual and intuitive abilities, and every Tuesday, I will speak on the subject of God, Spirit Guidance, Angels, and the Law of Attraction. I will also speak about health and wellness from the Mind, Body, Soul experience and have guests who bring their own spiritual light. My in-studio guest on April 5th will be Kenya Redd an Inspirational Spiritualist, aka Redd Angel, who is a model/actress, serial entrepreneur, and business woman.

You are welcome to follow Soul Connections on Instagram or Twitter. Join the conversation during the show while logged into Mixlr.

Simply aPauling Mar 28th: Michael Patrick Benning & Keenan Edge

Photo of Michael Patrick Benning & Paige VanTasellMonday, March 28th on Charlotte Community RadioI’ll debut my show Simply aPauling from 9:00pm to 10:00pm. My in-studio guests include Michael Patrick Benning and Keenan Edgeco-founders of the sketch comedy group Handled Poorly. The third co-founder, Paige VanTassell, is shown performing with Michael at NCCAF.

During my first show, we’ll talk about how they came together to start this group and their expectations for their first show, scheduled for 8:00pm on April 1st at Wet Willies.

Michael Patrick Benning got his start in improv comedy at Comedy Sportz in Indianapolis, followed by IMPROVment at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and a brief stint doing improvised musicals with Title TBD! in the same city. He’s been with Charlotte Comedy Theater since late last summer and is coming up on nine years of doing improv. That all said, this is his first sketch group, although he is an avid writer and editor in his free time, and he’s partially terrified. In his not-free time, Michael does computer stuff for bank people at a cool tech consulting firm he’s not going to name. Or kickboxing. Or drinking craft beer. Or using his kickboxing because he drank too much craft beer.

Keenan Edge is a man. He goes to UNCC. He wants to major in English. He’s an Photo of Comedian Kennan Edgeactor. He’s working on an indie film called Ringfinger, it’s pretty neat. He does improv. He met Michael and Paige during a sketch workshop at DSI. Now he does sketch with them. Overall, he’s pretty okay, I guess. If you’re into it.

Whether you’re a fan of stand-up, improv or sketch comedy, Charlotte offers it all and Simply aPauling will feature local comedians who will talk about comedy in Charlotte and what brought them to this crazy lifestyle. My goal with this radio show is to encourage people of Charlotte to get behind the growing comedic scene by supporting live comedy here in the Queen City so listen to my first show on Monday.

Introducing Simply aPauling with Paul Pallotta

Photo of Paul PallottaPaul Pallotta was born in Lindenhurst, New York and at the age of 10 his family moved to Stanfield, North Carolina, a small country town with not much going on. Two years ago, Paul decided it was time for a change so he moved to the big city of Charlotte, North Carolina. Since his move, he has become an active member of the Charlotte comedy scene by performing stand-up, improv and sketch comedy. Now, he’s ready to get behind the mic as a host on Charlotte Community Radio.

Paul has taken classes at UCB Theatre in New York and studied sketch comedy under Kids in the Hall member Kevin McDonald. You can watch Paul Pallotta perform improv with Charlotte Comedy Theater 8:00pm every Saturday night at Wet Willies, located at the AvidXchange Music Factory (NC Music Factory).

Whether you’re a fan of stand-up, improv or sketch comedy, Charlotte offers it all and Simply aPauling, hosted by Paul Pallotta, premiering on March 28th, will feature local comedians who will talk about comedy in Charlotte and what brought them to this crazy lifestyle. Most people in Charlotte are unaware of the local comedy scene and Paul thinks it’s time for that to change.  Paul’s goal with this radio show is to encourage people of Charlotte to get behind the growing comedic scene by supporting live comedy here in the Queen City.

Voices From The Community Mar 23rd: Vocalist, Tenya Colemon

Photo by Jay Weinmiller of Indigo Photography

Charlotte-based vocalist Tenya Colemon joins me on Wednesday, March 23rd during my Voices From The Community show on Charlotte Community Radio.

Tenya is a pure-toned vocalist whose sound and style harken back to the likes of Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McRae. Her vocal stylings are born from a homogenous fusion of Mississippi Blues and Traditional Jazz. The sultry of mauve and indigo meets the pink of Flamingos flying to places near and far. Tenya is a two-time Regional Artist Grant Recipient and has been featured on numerous digital and social media platforms including my Spotlight Artist Podcast Series. She leads her own jazz ensemble that performs as a duo, trio or quartet and has become a local and regional favorite headlining at festivals, art galleries, coffee houses, house concerts, churches, and other special events.

Tenya’s in love with the art of vocal expression, a love that can be heard in every note she sings. She opened for saxophonist Donald Harrison, toured with the renowned Jim Martinez Quartet and has graced the stage with award winning jazz greats such as pianist Cyrus Chestnut.

Join me for jazz and international music that I so lovingly design to soothe the soul and stimulate the mind followed by a chat with Tenya Colemon at 4:00pm this Wednesday.
