Please join me, Dennis “Cuz” Frost, the host of Cuz’s Corner, Wednesday, April 6th on Charlotte Community Radio for an in-studio conversation with photographer, writer and music historian Daniel Coston. Not only will we discuss his photography, but we’ll talk about our first love & obsession, which is music… all kinds of music! He is one of the most recognized authorities on the music of North Carolina so our journey may start close to home, from there, who knows!
Daniel’s subjects include the Avett Brothers, Johnny Cash (his final public performance) and too many to list. Johnny Cash, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Son Volt, Wilco, Monkeys, Tift Merritt and many more have used his work through the years and you will find his work on over 100 Cds to date. He has been published in numerous magazines around the world, including Time, Rolling Stone, Newsweek and many more. Daniel has released four books including “North Carolina Musicians: Photographs and Conversations” and “The Briarhoppers: The Circle rolls On”.
Listen to Cuz’s Corner, hosted by Dennis Frost, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm every Wednesday night via CharlotteCommunityRadio.org, CLTCRadio.org or Mixlr.com/CLTCRadio. This show is a roots based format with an Americana edge, exploring the roots and branches of the music with in-studio interviews and performances by both local and touring musicians.

Everyone has a purpose in life, and within that purpose lies a unique talent just waiting to be expressed and shared with the world. My first Soul Connections‘ guest Kenya Redd, aka Redd Angel, is an Inspirational Spiritualist who believes in striving to make dreams a reality and learning to find a way to focus on the now.
Kenya is also a model/actress, serial entrepreneur and business woman who has been an inspiration to so many who follow her across social media and are moved by her positive outlook on life that she voices in her daily posts. Many look forward and are moved by her energy. She is currently the owner of Redd Angel Media Marketing, Runway 1on1, MEN Entertainment, and Editor in Chief of The Machine Network.
Eckhart Tolle said it best: You’ll Never Be Happy Until You Learn To Live For The Now.
What does it mean to live fully in the present moment? It means that your awareness is completely centered on the here and now. Rather than focusing only on our long-term plans and ambitions, the elders tell us to learn while we’re young how to live in the moment.
The idea of being mindful — being present, being more conscious of life as it happens — may seem contradictory to those who sacrifice living for pursuing their goals, but cultivating mindfulness will help you achieve your goals and enjoy life more. Join us as we have an in-depth conversation of the steps it takes to learn to live in the “Now” during the premiere of my Soul Connections talk show, broadcasting LIVE on Charlotte Community Radio, Tuesday, April 5th from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. I will also reserve 15 minutes at the end of the show for my signature Guest Reading.

Now in its eighth year, the Queen City’s annual LGBTQ film festival aims to build bridges of understanding and support.
On hand to share about this year’s selections will be Victoria Eves and co-founder of the film festival, Teresa Davis. Charlotte’s culinary industry is on the rise with Chef Alyssa Gorelick at the forefront.
Alyssa grew up in Charlotte and attended the Art Institute of Charlotte. She has worked in and ran some of Charlotte’s most prestigious kitchens. Her culinary skills took her around the world and she has cooked everywhere from fine dining establishments to intimate settings. Chef Alyssa was the opening Executive Chef at Fern, Flavors from the Garden. While there, her passion for healthy and locally sourced cuisine grew.
In 2011, Alyssa met and began dating her now finance, Andrew Wilen. In December 2012, they formed the idea of Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen. Combining her culinary knowledge with his marketing and events experience, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen now offers classes for every skill level and type of cuisine at Atherton Market, located in the South End. The classes are designed to bring people together to share their love of food and enhance their cooking skill level. The products used in her classes are locally sourced whenever possible and recipes change with the seasons.
Chef Alyssa said admittedly she misses that rush a chef has from getting through a dinner service but is feeling more fulfilled these days by being able to share her love and knowledge of cooking with her students. If you consider yourself a master chef, don’t miss an episode of Top Chef, or even if you cannot boil an egg, I think you will enjoy my conversation with Chef Alyssa during my live show, Not Your Boyfriend’s Radio Hour, Monday, April 4th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Charlotte Community Radio.
Not Your Boyfriend’s Radio Hour, hosted by Amelia Coughlin, airs every other Monday from 7:00pm to 8:00pm via CharlotteCommunity Radio.org, CLTCRadio.org or Mixlr.com/CLTCRadio where you can chat with our hosts.
