The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Studio Museum in Harlem, New York, and the Gibbes Museum in Charleston, South Carolina only scratch the surface of the art museums that have been touched by Tea Time’s next guest Jonell Logan. She will be my first guest of the New Year, Tuesday, January 17th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Charlotte Community Radio.
Jonell is an independent curator, arts advocate, and founder of 300 Arts Project, LLC, an arts management and consulting company that helps museums, colleges, and collectors expand and document their exhibitions, scholarships, and collections. Jonell has also served as the adviser and catalog essayist for the Columbia Museum of Art’s current exhibition, REMIX: Themes and Variations in African-American Art and is on the board of The Light Factory here in Charlotte.
In 2016, Jonell was a TEDx Charlotte speaker (which I am kicking myself for missing). Let me not leave out that Mrs. Logan is also an experienced professor, teaching Art and Art History at various colleges and universities including schools in the City College of New York System, Trident Technical College, and the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.
I think we will have quite a bit to discuss, so please tune in as I chat with Jonell about defining and redefining art, and hopefully find out just what is “REMIXING” if we are not referring to music?
Tea Time, hosted by jazz musician Tenya Colemon, airs every other Tuesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm via CharlotteCommunityRadio.org, CLTCRadi.org or use the Mixlr app where you can chat with our hosts and guests alike.
