Blow The Whistles Oct 24th: Missing Norman, NFL Losing Steam?

February 7th, 2016 couldn’t seem further away now than it is right now for the Carolina Panthers. At 1-5 with one of the worst defenses in the league, the Panthers have lost their identity, four straight games, and it seems like their hope as well.

Though things may seem as if they couldn’t get any worse, I’ll tell you why the Panthers can still make the playoffs, and exactly what they need to do to go about it. I’ll also explain why Cam Newton walking out of the postgame press conference after his team’s Week 6 loss to the Saints is a great sign for the Panthers and their fans.

The NFL, also known as America’s most famous sport, by and large, has been losing viewership and has seen its ratings suffer. Though years in which the Presidential race has taken place has historically dropped NFL ratings, I have a better explanation as to why people are losing interest. Here’s a hint, talent.

With the NBA season tipping off next Tuesday, I am going to take a deeper look into teams that really have a chance at dethroning the Cavs in the East, and exactly what it would take to defeat the “Super Team” Golden State Warriors. Also, Karl Anthony-Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the most hyped up teams in recent memory. Despite their lack of veteran leadership and proven success, their talent alone has the league on guard for the next great team residing in the west. I’ll dive into why everyone should pump their brakes, and why it has nothing to do with the players themselves.

All of this plus an NFL Week 7 wrap up, a look into the MLB playoffs (despite my utter despise for baseball), and a College Basketball preview. You don’t want to miss what I have to say so listen in on Monday, October 24th at 6pm LIVE on Charlotte Community Radio.
