I met Todd about 2 years ago when he was performing at the Oddball Festival in 2014, where he shared the stage with comics like Louis CK, Hannibal Buress, Jeff Ross, and many more. He didn’t say much to me, because he really doesn’t say much to anyone, but since then we have become decent friends and now he talks to me a little more.
Todd Riley has excellent stage presence and a must see comedic voice. He opened for Headliners Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, John Witherspoon, and several comics from the former Chelsea Lately show. Some of Todd’s best weekends have been spent at the Comedy Zones, Zanies, The Punchline in Atlanta, and an occasional appearance, back where it all started, at the Columbus Funnybone.
They say comedy comes from depression, and being born in Cleveland, Ohio I’m sure he knows all about depression. From really cold winters to not very good sports teams, there hasn’t been much to cheer him up, but I like to think that all changed when he met me. He has been in Charlotte for the last two and a half years, but recently moved back to Cleveland for a few months. I believe it was because he was getting too happy and had to go back to his roots and find what it was that made him funny. Now he’s in Charlotte for good, and touring the nation spreading his joy. Your gonna want to listen as we sit and talk about the differences in the comedy scene in Cleveland compared to Charlotte, and what his plans are for the future.
