On the next Oral Fixation show, broadcasting live at 9:00pm, Monday, April 4th on Charlotte Community Radio, we’ll highlight the upcoming 2016 GayCharlotte Film Festival, happening April 21-24 at Theatre Charlotte. Now in its eighth year, the Queen City’s annual LGBTQ film festival aims to build bridges of understanding and support.
On hand to share about this year’s selections will be Victoria Eves and co-founder of the film festival, Teresa Davis. They will also discuss the broader film scene in the Carolinas, the region’s response to an LGBTQ festival, and how the increased visibility of LGBTQ people and stories on film and television helps to advance acceptance.
We love to hear from listeners so feel free to submit your query before the show by contacting me via email, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, and if you use the Mixlr app you can chat with us while listening.
