October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to connect advocates who are working to end violence against women and their children. One in three women will be the victim of domestic violence at some point in her life. This affects families and communities every day.
On the next Oral Fixation show, I will be joined by Tonya Sue Patrick, MSW. Herself a survivor of child abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence, she works to raise awareness and to support victims. She will share her story, as well as the story of a close friend of hers who lost her life to domestic violence and the justice that was, or was not, served (depending on your view). We will also discuss applicable laws and the available resources for those affected by child abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Join us for a difficult, but important, discussion on October 19th.
Oral Fixation with sexologist Becky Knight airs every other Monday from 9:00pm to 10:00pm on CharlotteCommunityRadio.org, CLTCRadio.org OR listen via Mixlr.com/CLTCRadio where you can chat with the host and guests as well.
Mark your calendar for the November 2nd Oral Fixation show when I will be joined by “reality expert” Troy Spry of Xklusive Thoughts. During the show, we’ll talk about his book, “Teach Me How To Love: A Man’s Journey Toward and Through Marriage”.
