Rob McHale is a North Carolina-based Folk-Americana artist whose songs can take you through a small town, down a dirt road or on a historical journey – and bring you back home again. Rob’s music can be heard on PBS Television’s Road Trip Nation Series and FM stations worldwide. His 2014 release Fields received critical acclaim in the US and Europe.
In 2015, Rob shared the main stage at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okema, OK with Ellis Paul, The Red Dirt Rangers, Butch Hancock, Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines, and won second place in the Woody Guthrie Song Contest.
The Rob McHale Band was recently featured at the Charlotte Folk Society’s Gathering for a concert at the Great Aunt Stella Center in May of 2015. The band includes Rob, his brother Pat on harmonica, Mike Alicke on guitar/mandolin, Frank Berridge on bass and Mary Hawes on Percussion.
In addition to solo and band performances, Rob is the founder and host of the legacy Summit Coffee Songwriters Showcase in Davidson, NC featuring talented local, regional, and touring artists.
